3M ESPE is looking for a Scientific Affairs Manager to join our Digital Dental Materials Business. Be a part of what’s next!
The Scientific Affairs Manager for the Digital Dental Materials businesses is responsible for the acquisition and distribution of scientific and clinical trends information, and coordination of the scientific marketing activities needed to support the business strategy.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Operative planning of Clinical Research and Scientific Marketing activities
- Project Activities related to the NPI process Scientific Input. Development of the scientific and clinical objectives of the product via review of the state-of-the-art. Define, monitor and control budget and timetable for scientific support efforts
- In vitro and in vivo studies: SAMs and business teams decide on goals, timing, budget requirements and allocation between projects. Manage together with appropriate functions.
- Identification of internal and external industry or academic resources to accomplish Scientific Marketing objectives
- Product positioning (cooperation)
- Budget planning and controlling
- Identification of new trends
- Transfer current scientific state of dentistry
- Input for strategic planning
- Strategic and operative planning
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited University
- Minimum of one year experience giving technical presentations
- Minimum of three years of dental industry experience
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of dental products and clinical procedures; experienced in training others required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), Certified Dental Technician (CDT), Dental Training experience and/or another certification not listed above
- Experience working in a clinical setting in a dental office
- Combined experience in the preparation, prosecution and/or evaluation of patents
- Experience leading cross functional teams
- Experience conducting research in conjunction with new product development and marketing launches
- Management skills (leadership, conflict management, multicultural)
- Project management experience
- Global Experience (multi-market or country) – preferred
