3M is seeking Service and Repair Technicians for the Communication Markets Division (TSS) located in Austin, TX. Be part of what’s next!

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Repair and Service Technician will provide technician support in the Traffic Safety and Security Division (TSSD) Service and Repair department. Primary focus will be on repairing TSSD equipment and parts to meet customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Repairing, updating, calibrating and environmentally testing equipment and other assemblies. Ensure that equipment and assemblies being repaired or sold meet repair department standards or performance, reliability and safety.
- Provide technical support to all customers.
- Maintain, improve and create test procedures for assigned equipment.
- Driving quality improvement, cost reduction and product/process optimization through the use of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Train customers, employees and other technicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED and minimum of three years industrial, electrical or electronics experience OR an Associate’s degree in electrical or electronics discipline

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years experience troubleshooting electrical systems and components
- Minimum of three years experience working with customers and suppliers within the electronics supply chain
- Minimum of three years combined experience working with Flex and/or PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Manufacturing
- Minimum of three years experience troubleshooting and repair techniques on surface mount technology, micro-processor controlled, analog and/or digital device equipment
- Experience working with customers and suppliers within the electronics supply chain
- Experience leading and integrating Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, principles and practices in organizations
- Level 2 Soldering Certification
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology for sustained continuous improvement
- Customer interaction experience
- Experience working on parking and/or toll road systems
