Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Inside Sales Representative will primarily be responsible for creating new business and maintaining existing business within the Western Sales Region. 3M Commercial Graphics help customers worldwide build brands by providing total large-format graphics and light management solutions. 3M manufactures or certifies lighting solutions‚ graphic films and graphic protection‚ flexible substrates‚ as well as inks and toners used to create large-format finished graphics that are consistent‚ reliable and durable. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Establishes and maintains customer relationships (including cold calling) by introducing new products, selling and upgrading regular product orders and informing customer of product promotions. Works with Manager to establish business plan with strategies and tactics to achieve annual sales forecast.
- Provides technical assistance to customers and assists them in identifying products to meet their needs. Provides customers with detailed product information and explains proper product applications to meet customer's specific business needs. May involve sending samples of product to the customer.
- Informs management of sales activities and submits routine reports
- Establishes customer contacts and assists with new product introductions by attending trade shows and conducting customer visits. This position may require travel to individual customer accounts.
- Continually updates customer account profiles (sales and evaluation histories through the electronic Account Management System.)
- Maintains and enhances selling and marketing skills and overall knowledge of 3M and competitor products and applications by pursuing continuing educational and personal development opportunities through the utilization of internal and external coursework and seminars.
- The employee has no responsibility for leading or supervising others. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University
- Experience in sales and/or cold calling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable with challenging /being challenged (able to provide examples).
- Face-to-Face selling experience
- Owned or held a key role in a small business, gaining exposure to unique needs of small businesses (e.g., subcontracting processes; payroll; scheduling employees; hiring/firing; cost of poor service)
- Participation in team environments
- Sales and Marketing background
- Industry experience with Digital Printing, Large Format Graphics, Screen-printing and Sign Fabrication are preferred
- Proven high performance sales ability with a history of achieving and/or exceeding annual sales forecasts
- Ability to listen to the customer; develop creative solutions; and build strong relationships
- Experience in using advanced territory management skills, including analytics, strategic planning, prioritization and tactical execution
- Excellent time and resource management skills
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and interpret technical information
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to speak and teach in front of large groups

Travel: May include up to 10% travel to visit customers, attend regional meeting and tradeshows
