3M is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer for the Electronics & Energy Business Group, Electronic Solutions Division, Touch Systems business in Methuen, MA. Be a part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for the leadership, direction, coordination, and implementation of environmental, safety, and health programs for the Plant. Lead and drive continuous improvement efforts in all aspects of EHS performance and compliance. Guide and support Plant Management, individuals, and groups to ensure and promote EHS ownership and responsibility in accordance with 3M and regulatory policy requirements. Provide leadership, oversight, and support for EHS department.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain and improve the applicable GSHP, GEMSA and Facility EHS plans
- Perform and guide EHS site projects and programs including training
- Interact with management and employees to research and answer safety related questions or concerns
- Apply EHS knowledge to regulatory interpretation and consideration for Management of Change
- Interpret and communicate (training) 3M Corporate, State, Federal, and Local EHS standards requirements
- Interact with internal/external auditors and regulatory agencies
- ISO 14001 Site Coordinator
- Hazardous Waste and Material Coordinator
- Complete and submit applicable reports, analyze data, present results and recommend plans for correction of gaps
- Lead MOC, Process Hazards Analysis (PHA), Fall Protections, Ventilation, and Machine Guarding programs and other applicable safety programs.
- TSCA Site Coordinator
- Lead WIMS and incident investigation and/or response teams for EHS incidents
- Provide ownership for the site respirator programs and other applicable PPE programs
- Provide on-call coverage for spills, releases and other emergency situations
- Environmental responsibilities for EPCRA 302, RCRA, Emission tracking, waste water, and storm water.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum three years of environmental, health & safety (EHS) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in EHS, Chemistry and/or Engineering from an accredited university
- Masters degree or higher from an accredited university
- 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
- Wastewater Operator Certification
- Experience identifying and reducing ergonomic risks
- Industrial hygiene experience
- Proficient using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Communicates effectively in both written and oral formats
- Ability to lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong Chemical Background

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel
