3M is seeking a Electrician/Instrumentation Tech for the Industrial Business Group located in Newark, DE. Be part of what’s next!
The position of Electrician/Instrumentation Tech located in Newark,DE will support manufacturing operations by performing troubleshooting, calibration, repair/replacement, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
The Electrician/Instrumentation Tech will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
- Perform a wide variety of complex electrical and mechanical work related to the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, operation, inspection, and testing of a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, computer, micro processor and variable frequency drive, electro-mechanical, digital, telemetry, operator interface terminals, and analog components and perform other duties as required.
- Perform advanced electrical functions, including instrumentation, PLC ladder logic programming, PLC communication protocols, & AC/DC drive programming.
- Work from electrical prints, diagrams, work orders, electrical code books, drawings, sketches, schematics, written and verbal instructions.
- Perform calibration and monitoring device measurements, and corrective actions.
- Complete all assigned corrective, preventative and predictive work orders detailing actions taken and materials used.
- Direct, monitor and inspect work of outside contractors and part suppliers ensuring compliance to specification and quality of work.
This position will require:
- Working a fixed 2nd shift
- Working overtime
This position may require:
- Weekend work
- Short notice call in
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in an electronics or instrumentation discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrician and Instrumentation Technician
- Experience with PID control loops
- Experience with Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems
- Technical experience working with electrical systems
- Intermediate computer knowledge
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs
- Experience working with pumps
- Must be highly motivated and a good team player with a positive attitude
