3M is seeking a Technical Aide for the Display & Graphics Business Laboratory

Display & Graphics Business: Display and Graphics Business Lab. We are engaged in providing new technologies and materials to the fast paced digital and graphics markets.

This particular position is a temporary, part-time assignment with 3M's Technical Aide Program and is not benefit eligible. The Technical Aide Program is designed to support the 3M technical community. As a Technical Aide located in Maplewood, MN, you will be assisting the 3M technical staff in the performance of their Job Responsibilities. It is a great way to get relevant work experience that complements your education.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Technical Aide will work on a multifunctional team in a laboratory setting and be responsible for helping with formulation, device fabrication and device testing. Device characterization will include examination of electrical, chemical, and optical properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out experiments and reporting results to the rest of the team.

This position is limited to working 32 hours weekly and 899 hours per service credit year
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Completed at least one semester of a post high school degree program from an accredited college or university OR 3 years of 3M experience as a technician in lieu of the above education requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
· Current cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's level or higher degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics, or related discipline with an accredited university, having completed at a minimum your Freshman year

· Prior experience working in a laboratory is preferred

· Be able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) to processing numerical results

· Ability to program in Matlab® preferred

· Ability to work a minimum of 10-12 hours weekly during the academic year and potentially up to 32 hours during the summer months
