Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Customer, Consumer & Market Insights Manager will be responsible for leading the internal vendor Expert Execution team through consulting, designing, managing and executing marketing research projects and delivering insights, implications and recommendations to business clients. The position includes leading quantitative, qualitative and secondary marketing research and will service businesses across all of 3M, both in the US and globally, and will span both customer (B2B) and consumer initiatives.
Additionally, the Customer, Consumer and Market Insights Manager is expected to lead and develop a team of CCMI associates in conducting marketing research while ensuring associates gain experience and develop expertise across various types of marketing research. This position will be responsible for integrating new digital methods and best practices into the existing toolkit, while advancing established product testing methods to deliver share growth and margin optimization opportunities. Reports to CCMI Senior Manager, Expert Consulting and Execution
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees work of CCMI Analysts (employee and contingent) on project-specific basis
- Gather and synthesize data, and draw insights from primary and secondary sources
- Maintain professional presence with business clients
- Collaborate with clients on assessing business issues to scope, develop, design, manage and execute projects
- Consult, advise and influence local and global brand teams on insights methodologies, usage and interpretation
- Works closely and collaboratively with business partners, markets/subsidiaries and vendors
- Collaborates with others in CCMI to share learning and build overall knowledge
- Develops existing client relationships as well as proactively generate new business opportunities by obtaining requests for new and repeat business
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum seven (7) years of customer and/or consumer insight and/or marketing research experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum three (3) years of experience conducting research as a vendor
- Experience with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) a plus
- Strong knowledge of customer and consumer insights using a broad array of current and new methodologies - quantitative and qualitative
- Business to Business (B2B) and/or Business to Consumer (B2C) research experience
- Global research experience a bonus
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written/visual) to create and deliver compelling presentations of insights
- Demonstrated ability to translate information and data into actionable insights and recommendations, and ability to lead others in doing so
- Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking skills including capability to assess current situation, draw conclusions and envision future business opportunities
- Excellent project management skills with commitment to meeting deadlines: Able to prioritize multiple projects with little assistance and execute projects from start to completion
- A team player with strong interpersonal and team building skills

Travel: May include up to 5-10% domestic and international
