Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Global Digital Marketing Leader will drive global marketing excellence in digital marketing by collaboration with country, region, area and international business teams and marketing teams. Act as a catalyst across 3M and partner with 3M eTransformation to drive development and execution of innovative interactive marketing executions that drive business value and customer engagement.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Drive the vision and general strategy for 3M global online marketing efforts.
- Define and implement strategic frameworks that help marketers understand how, why and when to include digital marketing into all their marketing activities, from plans to daily tactics.
- Define and implement best-in-class Digital Marketing training for 3M Marketing community, Digital Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Business leaders.
- Enable the ability to manage digital marketing programs (Search Engine Optimization (SEO), mobile, social, content marketing, eCommerce, web advertising, etc) through the creation of tools, playbooks, and other support materials.
- Establish and drive best practices, identify improvement opportunities, scope requirements to improve overall interactive marketing competency with eLeaders and Marketing Community. Define and track digital competency metrics.
- Research, interpret and share trends in interactive marketing to define guidelines, methods and best practices in interactive marketing.
- Research and interpret business opportunities driven from interactive marketing and eCommerce to influence strategy and internal leadership to invest in opportunities of interest to 3M Develop and lead pilot tests of these opportunities, such as Marketing automation, Content Marketing, Data Utilization, etc.
- Consult with country, region, area, businesses and leadership regarding interactive marketing staffing, resourcing and forecasting.
- Connect global interactive marketing staff with interactive agencies, and headquarters resources for interactive marketing project execution. Connect global teams and various Divisions to each other to spearhead collaboration and best-practice sharing.
- Establish a vision and guidelines for social networks and social commerce, and partner with areas and countries to help them define best local strategies. Coordinate marketing efforts with global legal resources as appropriate.
- Build stronger customer connections and relationships via interactive tools and resources, champion use of digital tools for Customer Insights collection and for ongoing lead/customer nurturing.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) teams to optimize solutions that link marketing and sales customer data and automated activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing digital and/or interactive marketing programs
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA from an accredited university preferred
- 10 + years of online/interactive project management experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years B2B interactive experience
- Minimum 5 years experience with coaching, performance management, goal setting and/or change management
- Familiarity with web tools and methodologies
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Very strong communication, analytical and inter-personal skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent working knowledge and experience in five or more of the following online marketing areas: email marketing, banner advertising, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, website marketing, integrated campaign management, user generated content, mobile marketing and eCommerce business development.
- 2+ years should be within a large corporate framework
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic & international
