Description
3M Corporate Communications is seeking an exceptional writer to join its team as a Strategic Communications Specialist. This position offers an opportunity to help bring to life the next generation of stories that illustrate how 3M technology, products and innovation influence our daily lives.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Help develop objectives and messages for editorial content for multiple channels in corporate communications including social and digital media to help drive engagement and enhance 3M’s reputation with employees, customers and investors.
- Write articles and produce multimedia content for internal and external consumption that tell the 3M story.
- Build and maintain relationships with various contacts in staff functions and 3M businesses to generate story ideas that advance the company’s vision and strategies.
- Work collaboratively with others within corporate communications.
- Must be able to write in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple writing assignments.
- As needed, lead and support projects in other areas within corporate communications.
- Review and select appropriate contracted suppliers, as needed, for project implementation
Location: The person hired for the position of Strategic Communications Specialist will be located in Maplewood, MN and relocation benefits are authorized for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in Journalism, Public Relations or Mass Communication.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Communications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional writing and editorial skills
- Experience in a corporate or agency setting
- Knowledge of AP style
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Superior verbal communication and personal interaction skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with broad range of audiences and levels of management.
- Ability to produce corporate communication projects with limited supervision.
- Experience in video production
- Experience in social media
