3M is seeking an eCommerce Specialist for the Consumer Business Group’s (CBG) eHub located at our global headquarters in Maplewood, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of eCommerce Specialist will leverage their background in marketing, sales and eCommerce to enhance our eCommerce partnerships with Office and eChannel accounts. In this role, the candidate will work with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies and ensure the on-time, on-plan, in-budget execution of foundational and incremental digital tactics.
This resource will drive 3M sales on key account websites by focusing on product presence, demand generation and analytics.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Help develop “e” strategy and execute eCommerce campaigns including first-in-search, adjacencies, seasonal promotions, search optimization, and landing pages in partnership with accounts
- Help supervise the day-to-day operations of 3M’s “brand champion” at key accounts.
- Responsible for the development and execution of channel marketing plans to drive sales growth of Stationary Office and Supplies Division (SOSD) products with select SOSD etailers. Proactively engage CBG Key Account team for Amazon.com and SOSD Key Account Teams to gain support for, and execution of, SOSD sales and marketing sales growth initiatives. Appropriately manage SOSD product assortment in etail to maximize sales while minimizing channel conflict. Leverage personal industry knowledge and experience to successfully execute Special Project assignments.
- Develop understanding of key account web capabilities, monitor the evolution of web abilities, and share account and industry trends across teams
- Lead eCommerce best practice sessions with top Independent Dealer Channel distributors to drive program success
- Assess and recommend next evolution of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and process improvements for further integration of Marketing and Sales programs
- Identify, assess and develop a framework for onboarding and aligning new dotcom eTailers currently not being supported by our 3M CBG sales force.
- Partner with internal and external resources to build engaging content, to include landing pages, category pages, banners, video, photography, and other web assets
- Execute regular data scrubs for key accounts to improve product presence
- Support efforts to increasingly incorporate “e” in all aspects of the business––from retail displays to promotional campaigns––and help drive an understanding of how eCommerce influences total brand and sales (e.g. Omnichannel programs)
- Help customize product data based on account needs as it relates to cross-sell/up-sell products, related products, and key search terms to follow identified best practices and processes to improve product presence on eCommerce websites
- Work closely with the eHub Digital Asset Management team to identify best practices and processes for content hygiene and syndication, including best-available product content from 3M systems and rich content/video content
- Work with 3M analysts to measure the effectiveness of eCommerce programs executed on account websites
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with sales and marketing teams, and work closely with key account marketers
- Collaborate with accounts and internal functional teams on co-branded email campaigns and social media promotions
- Monitor competitor product promotions on websites, including competitive product presence and competitive demand generation activity
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum of three (3) years eCommerce experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years combined experience in Marketing and/or Sales
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year combined experience in eCommerce and eMarketing
- Experience directly interfacing with online retailers or Office Channel retailer
- Minimum of one (1) year web project management experience
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic travel
