3M is seeking a Measurement Systems Research Engineer for the Measurement and Inspection Systems Group, within the Corporate Research Process Laboratory (CRPL) located in Woodbury, Minnesota. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Measurement Systems Research Engineer will create develop techniques for processing analog and digital signals from sensors to aide in the development of measurement and inspections systems for R&D and Manufacturing. This person will work with a team of scientists that are developing measurement systems to enable new leading edge manufacturing process and the reduction of manufacturing cost.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop signal processing algorithms for measurement systems.
- Lead new technology introduction projects related to measurement and inspection technologies.
- Communicate results and technical progress through written reports and oral presentations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently possess or in the final year of a Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum 1+ year (academic and/or industry) signal processing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Experience in developing sensing and characterization techniques
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- “Hands on” and “can do” attitude
- Good understanding of optics and physics fundamental principles including light diffraction, scattering, interference, imaging and light source fundamentals
- Exceptional experimental and prototyping skills with optical systems
- Results driven, self-motivated and strong team skills
Location: Woodbury, Minnesota
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic and international
Relocation: Is authorized
