3M is seeking a Product Information Architect for the Industrial Business Group (IBG) located at our global headquarters in Maplewood, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Product Information Architect role is crucial to our ability to create, deliver, and maintain the online product catalogs for IBG divisions globally, the Base/Variant data structure, the IBG global data footprint, and country catalog replications. All of these deliverables are key to enabling our global content strategies, bCom, global eCommerce strategies, and channel syndication efforts.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
General Scope:
- Translate global business requirements and eCommerce strategies into appropriate data structure to achieve business results using the Endeca and GPIM platforms. Configure product and application catalog pages in Endeca/Page Builder/Experience Manager.
Configuring, Building, and Managing Projects:
- Based on business and corporate web strategy, prepares corresponding data map and defines/implements the data architecture required to deliver the website strategy.
- Identifies business and product information management resources required to provide and digitize product content.
- Establishes timelines. Develops and manages a project plan. Make adjustments as necessary, communicating regularly with stakeholders. Facilitates business team (Marketing, Tech Service, Regulatory and Legal) meetings to design user experience for product catalogs, technologies and solutions web pages.
- Designs product data architecture in a way that can be replicated globally and across applications.
- Configures Endeca pages using Endeca Pagebuider. Accountable to business to deliver complete and accurate results on time.
Planning:
- Consults with businesses, recommending appropriate strategies to meet business eMarketing/website needs.
- Recommends specific solutions based on understanding of business go-to-market strategies, industry best practices and 3M's suite of eTools and applications.
- Uses metrics to monitor data architecture decisions and recommend improvements/changes.
- Has an in-depth understanding of 3M PIM systems and how 3M and channel partner eApplications consume product data, which provides ability to leverage existing data and structures across new applications and deliver new applications quickly and efficiently.
Leadership:
- Assigns project team member’s tasks and responsibilities; including web services team and product information analysts.
- Directs and monitors work product of the product information analysts assigned to the project.
- Provides assistance/training to product information analysts regarding new item setup and ongoing content improvement projects.
Technical Expertise:
- Develop in-depth understanding of SNAPS platform and Pagebuilder tool.
- Configure Endeca product and application catalogs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in data management and/or product information architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate to Advanced level of experience with Hybris, Endeca, Page Builder, and Experience Manager (and other content acquisition and configuration systems) in the context of website and product catalog design, user experience, and functionality.
- Advanced expertise with MS Project, MS Excel (VLookup, macros, etc.), and Visio
- Strong data mapping skills and translation of requirements to actionable development
- Digital Marketing experience would be a candidate differentiator
- Ability to think strategically, act with tactical speed, grasp system design and interdependencies, and understand relationships between critical issues.
- Project management experience with demonstrated ability to prioritize work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong leadership ability. Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
