Description

3M is seeking a Specialist, Embedded Software Developer for the Safety & Graphics Business Group, Traffic Safety Systems Division.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Leads low level device driver design
- Lead the development of embedded logic and application code
- Perform worst-case analysis, simulations and design verification
- Provide post-design support and trouble-shooting with hands-on lab work using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, emulators and other test equipment
- Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance
- Adhere to and supports development standards in place within the development team

Location: The person hired for the position of Specialist, Embedded Software Developer will be located in Austin, TX and relocation assistance will not be available. This position may include up to 10% travel.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Minimum 7 years combined experience with coding embedded systems and/or low-level driver development using C/C++

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering or computer science from an accredited university
- Minimum 3 years experience with designing Digital Circuits
- Minimum 3 years experience with Software Development Lifecycle
- Minimum 3 years experience with object oriented development principles
- Minimum 1 year experience in the parking control products and systems industry
- Minimum 1 year experience with XHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and/or TFS Source Control
- Strong conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills
- Relevant Microsoft Certification
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Must excel at working with peers within a team environment
- Track record of meeting project plan timelines and produce a high quality product
- Track record of taking individual initiative and accountability for assignments
- Track record of adapting to changing priorities
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technologies
- Detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
