3M is seeking a Product Taxonomy Specialist for the Global eTransformation department.
The person hired for the position of Product Taxonomy Specialist will primarily be
responsible for working with 3M corporate and business product information stakeholders to manage the requirements for enterprise level product data and taxonomy with an emphasis on sales and marketing attribution, how that taxonomy will work globally across countries, enable country catalogs and sub-site catalogs, and work closely with user experience design professionals inside of eTransformation and the businesses.
Coach businesses, marketers and other cross functional team members to capture,normalize and enrich product information and marketing data for input into GPIM/hybris,Celum and other systems of record, with the goal of the output of that information for our online catalogs, syndication and print
Coach businesses on the proper use of process and technology to facilitate the most relevant use of enriched product information and marketing data through Endeca
Workbench and other outputs for the web, syndication and print
Research and benchmark product data taxonomies from peer manufacturers and retailers with a focus on sales and marketing product attributes and taxonomies
Work with 3M corporate and business product data specialists across all functions – sales and marketing, manufacturing, logistics, regulatory, legal, etc. - to gather product data architecture and taxonomy requirements
Work closely with Global eTransformation User Experience managers to integrate the requirements for 3M web product display systems
Work with other corporate functions to integrate the requirements for data syndication to partner web product display systems
Work with Corporate IT product data architects
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
1+ year of experience with a Product Information Management (PIM) System in a data architecture role
3+ combined years experience with MS PowerPoint and/or Keynote
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in Information Systems
3+ combined years of experience with Visio and/or OmniGraffle
3+ combined years of experience with GPIM/Hybris, Endeca Workbench, Celum and/or SAP implementation
3+ years of experience with a Digital Asset Management System
1+ combined year of experience working with User Experience (UX) Design methodologies benchmarking competitors and/or peer companies based on good UX and taxonomic methods
Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
Ability to visualize data and taxonomic structures effectively
