3M is seeking a Technical Aide for 3M ESPE Dental Laboratory located in Maplewood, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Technical Aide for 3M ESPE Dental Laboratory will perform duties initiated by senior product developers, such as testing procedures, formulations, statistics, experimentation and recording results in Technical Notebooks. The position will provide hands-on experience in several areas of dental technology, e.g. preventive dental products, digital materials, and/or indirect dental restorations.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Mixing and characterization of dental product formulations and test solutions
- Preparation of restorative material and natural dentition test samples
- Operation of test equipment (e. g. Fluoride electrode, Instron, dental milling machine)
- Preparation of data reports and communication of results to product developers
This position is PART-TIME TEMPORARY and limited to working no more than 32 hours per week and 899 hours per service credit year.
Basic Qualifications:
- Completed at least one (1) semester of a post high school degree program from an accredited college or university or three (3) years of 3M experience as a technician in lieu of the above education requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current overall cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s level degree program at an accredited university with a declared major in Material Sciences, Chemistry and/or Biology
- Achieved Freshman academic status
- Laboratory experience
- Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must have good communications skills, both written and oral
- Able to take directions from Senior Lab personnel, but also able to work alone at times
- Must be able to clearly, and accurately document all work in a Technical Notebook
- Must be reliable and a team player
