3M is seeking a Technical Aide for the Electronic Materials Solutions Division located in St. Paul, MN at 3M Center. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Technical Aide will assist in the development and testing of electronic grade abrasives. The products are used for very fine finishing and polishing of wafers used in electronics.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Runs test procedures on products
- Maintains the workspace to keep the equipment clean and efficient and keeps tract of test samples
- Writes up test reports on the results
- Maintains awareness and communicates observation of unusual results
- Works with the engineer to improve the test procedure and equipment
This position is PART-TIME TEMPORARY and limited to working no more than 32 hours per week and 899 hours per service credit year.
Basic Qualifications:
- Completed at least one (1) semester of a post high school degree program from an accredited college or university or three (3) years of 3M experience as a technician in lieu of the above education requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- College student working toward a chemistry, physics, electronic, mechanical engineering degree or similar manufacturing experience such as work on quality control testing
- Familiar with Microsoft Office to record data and write reports
- Experience with basic laboratory equipment, microscopy, and digital photography
- Skills should include mechanical aptitude with making or fixing things, e.g. high school shop, science fairs, vehicle or equipment maintenance, or crafts
