Job Summary:
The 3M Personal Safety Division is a leading supplier safety and protection solutions. The person hired for the position of Oil, Gas, and Mining Segment Marketer will be responsible for driving profitable growth in targeted vertical segments in the United States. As a key member of the marketing team this person will work closely with the product marketing, technical service, channel and sales teams to develop and execute crisp segment marketing plans. The ideal candidate will possess a business development mindset, strong customer relationship skills, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Primary Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:
- Develop relationships with key end users and channel partners
- Conduct strategic market analysis that clearly defines growth opportunities within targeted segments
- Identify market and competitive trends that are impacting targeted segment customers
- Develop an in-depth understanding of customer needs within the targeted segments
- Develop appropriate tracking metrics for targeted segments
- Create differentiated marketing plans for targeted segments utilizing the appropriate mix of product, channel, service, price, and promotional tactics
- Execute the marketing plans in conjunction with the product marketing, technical service, channel and sales teams
- Manage the Marketing/Communications and Travel budgets
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- A minimum of 3 combined years of sales and/or marketing experience in the Personal Protective Equipment industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s degree in marketing
- A minimum of 3 years of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related sales and/or marketing experience in the Oil and Gas industry
- Business and financial acumen
- Leads with high energy, confidence and passion
- Digital savvy
- Ability to overcome setbacks/adversity to achieve goals
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and influence the organization
- Well organized self starter who can effectively work in a fast paced environment; and work through and manage change/ambiguity, with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Ability to understand and apply analytical and statistics tools
- Results oriented with strong process and execution skills
Location: Houston, TX
Travel: May include up to 50% domestic travel
Relocation: Is authorized
