3M is seeking a Communications Specialist Requisition for Corporate Marketing team located in London, ON. Ready to be part of what's next?
The Communications Specialist champions the 3M brand and values by executing internal communications programs. Working within the company’s brand team, and with the support of cross functional teams, the Communications Specialist displays strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to strategically plan and execute programs that enhance our company’s reputation and employee engagement. This role requires the proven ability to operate in a varied, deadline driven, and sometimes demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide communications counsel and support to the company’s leadership team and executives to develop internal communications plans, presentations and key messages.
- Lead, develop and execute communications plans for new initiatives as well as ongoing initiatives like content (written as well as video) for the company’s intranet, digital signage throughout office and manufacturing locations, company-wide town hall meetings, and so on.
- Research, interview, compose, edit and distribute content for both written and electronic media, and ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Partner with other Business Group stakeholders to create and support aligned communications across operational areas.
- Generate new ideas and contribute to the continuous improvement of communications programs and processes.
- Produce Video and Event content that align with Corporate, Brand , Business and event objectives.
- Provide Media Training to Corporate leaders
- Interface with the local and National media as the first face of 3M Canada.
- Work through Crisis Communication as needed
Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
- Ability to work effectively with tight timelines and under pressure to deliver measurable results in demanding environments with diplomacy and adaptability while handling multiple tasks, prioritizing activities, and meeting deadlines
- Strong research, writing, editing and proof-reading skills
- Media training or experience with media
- Experience as a producer working in video production
- Proven ability to build relationships at all levels, with an aptitude to guide and lead cross-functional teams on transformational initiatives
- Understanding or experience with web development and video development would be an asset
- Understanding and appreciation of a company’s compliance with Canada’s Official Languages Act would also be an asset
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
- University Degree in Communication or Public Relations
Required Experience:
At least 1-3 years experience in an agency, corporate or government communications environment, developing and executing communications plans
