3M is seeking a UX Lead for the Customer Experience Team within Corporate Marketing group, located in Maplewood, MN. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
3M is looking for a dedicated and experienced User Experience Research Lead to reveal what our customers need from our digital properties. You will conduct primary research to define behaviors, expectations of our customers across the globe with cross-functional teams of Designers, Developers and Product Managers. Your ability to ensure stakeholders and management understand the customer insights and align with the recommendation will be critical to your success. This position reports to the User Experience Manager.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Customer Validation of Global Templates & Design Patterns (60%)
- Lead the usability practice within the Customer Experience team for the continual improvement of 3M.com sites and applications.
- Partner with management and stakeholders to prioritize activities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Lead the execution of research activities through Lean UX projects
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
- Evangelize research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.
- Partner with business stakeholders and Customer Experience, Call Center, Analytics teams to continually identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the 3M.com experience.
- Communicate with stakeholders and teams on findings and recommendations.
- Own relationship with external agency partners and ASP for 3M licensed usability tools.
- Lead the execution of studies using 3M licensed tools, including designing, moderating and analysis of studies as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Globalization of Usability Practice (40%)
- Define global user testing strategy, methodology, procedures and standards to enable consistent, efficient delivery of quantitative and qualitative customer input.
- Create study templates to enable efficient global distribution of common study types.
- Provide direction and training for on-site and distributed team members on usability principles and moderation.
- Drive the execution and enhancement of a global customer advisory panel.
- Coordination participant compensation with agency partners and local subsidiaries.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in usability role, including test planning, moderation, analysis and/or reporting
- Experience with Remote Usability tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint for presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four year degree, in related field,; Human Factors/Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology preferred
- UserZoom experience preferred
- Masters in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, or similar
- Ability to make recommendations and present complex information to non-technical audiences
- Ability to thrive within an Lean UX or Agile environment
- Ability to create prototypes or graphical assets to support prototype creation
- Efficiency with Axure, Omnigraffle or Visio
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a commerce, mass merchant or retail environment
- Minimum of 1 year experience with studies for International audiences
- Project Management experience
- Strong time management skills and the ability to be self–directed when needed
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
