3M is seeking an Electrical / Systems Technician - Entry Level for the Consumer Business Group located in Tonawanda, NY. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Electrical / Systems Technician - Entry Level will be assigned to a shift and responsible for maintaining & trouble shooting all types of production equipment. Examples of the types of equipment are as follows: PLC systems, VFD’s, 480v three phase,100/220 volt systems, hard wired relay & starter logic, RTD’s & Flow meters, motors drives etc.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Improving reliability and performance of production equipment through repair and modification of the following:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems
- Calibrations / metrology
- National Electric Code
- Create, read, modify or update electrical diagrams: elementary diagrams, PLC logic, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams, P&ID drawings, etc.
- Work with electrical tools, test equipment and instruments used in industrial plant applications such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, meggers, chart recorders.
- Improve manufacturing processes by working on Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens family of control systems
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Working weekends
- Working holidays as needed
- Working short notice call in
- Working either a first, second or third shift depending on shift availability
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess an Associate's degree (AS) in a related electrical or electronics discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of electrical experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a related electrical or electronics discipline
Location: Tonawanda, NY
