3M is seeking a Marketing Communications Intern for the Personal Safety Division located in London, Ontario. Ready to be part of what's next?

The PSD Marketing Communications Intern will gain exposure to and participate in tactical marketing communications planning, execution and results reporting, of PSD product, content and promotional campaigns, events execution, social media, direct mail and email campaigns, and graphic design and artwork for campaign collateral. This is a well-rounded position that will provide an Intern with exposure to all elements of integrated marketing communications and its work efforts. In this position the intern will be working in a variety of program areas that require marketing communications and interactive marketing, support and tactics.

1. Project Managment/Execution. With supervision, based on the marketing communications plan, prepares creative brief to provide to internal and external clients/resources. Uses internal and external resources to produce communications projects. Prepares accurate estimates of costs, milestones, and resources prior to initiating projects. Produces deliverables consistent with plan objectives and strategies. Reviews and selects appropriate contracted suppliers for project implementation. Monitors activities of the supplier to meet expectations. (70%)

1. Planning. Produces communications projects of limited scope and complexity in support of functional marketing communications plans, Organizational plans and 3M’s reputation and brand strategy. Work is performed with regular supervision. Provides suggestions to modify/improve project plans to clients, as required. Assists in measurement of project results by obtaining and compiling project data. (20%)

1. Leadership. Coordinates and monitors work processes. Participates on project teams. Builds effective relationships with suppliers. Participates in communications community activities to learn new skills and apply them to the job. (10%)

The intern primarily uses administrative skills to execute communications projects, monitor project budgets and digital results reporting, apply policies, or produce standard reports.

Minimum Requirements:
- In the final 2 years of an undergraduate degree
- Currently enrolled in a co-op or internship program
- Available to work for an 8 month term

Skills Profile:
- Preferably in a related field such as marketing, marketing communications, journalism, advertising, public relations, or mass communication
- Between 1-2 years of related job experience is preferred
- Influencing and communication skills, analysis, and project management skills
- Applies basic knowledge of communications processes and technologies
- Language requirements include English and familiarity with French is an asset
