3M is seeking a Resident Control Systems Engineer for the Home Care Division located in Elyria, Ohio. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Resident Control Systems Engineer will support capital expenditures for the Home Care Division at the Elyria, Ohio plant.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead projects in the specification, design and installation of industrial control systems for new and existing capital equipment in support of the Elyria plant.
- Implement solutions that include the use of programmable logic control (PLC) systems, motor drive systems, AC/DC motion control, digital and analog systems, data acquisition, power distribution, systems integration, human/machine interface (HMI), and programming in a wide variety of formats.
- In implementing the solutions, incorporate safety into the process (employee safety, PLC programming, and systems troubleshooting)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the design and specification of control systems.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in specifying and programming PLCs and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens control platforms.
- Ability to manage a project involving internal and/or external technical resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with individuals at all levels of the corporation.
- Ability to train end users on project scope, functionality, operation, and maintenance of a newly installed system.
- Practical engineering experience and understanding of principals across numerous engineering trades. Familiarity with a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to learn and understand new and changing technologies.
- Ability to work in a team environment and a cost conscious environment.
- Self directed and motivated, can manage workload with little supervision.
Location: Elyria, Ohio
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic and international
