As our Social Media Strategist, you will help engage and build communities for the 3M Brand. You will be responsible for day-to-day social engagement including planning and strategy, managing content development and production, executing distribution, monitoring and listening, and measuring our social media objectives across all channels. This role coordinates with the internal editorial newsroom team, storyteller and multimedia communication specialists, external media team, global counterparts and legal to support the Company’s Vision. You will collaborate across the company and with the eTransformation team, to ensure efforts are fully integrated with other social engagement efforts across the company’s portfolio. You will work closely with global media teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network of brand advocates and influencers.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure the Corporate Communications social media strategy is brought to life through the day-to-day details and interactions to increase 3M’s global share of voice and online sentiment via effective digital storytelling and relationship management
- Manage the implementation of global social media communication strategies, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the corporate communications messaging
- Engage stakeholders in best practices for brand communities including content mapping, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, email/social (community) media integration, metrics and testing
- Engage with internal and external resources, including brand teams, writers, storytellers, and designers
- Drive understanding and use of social media best practices to meet strategic and operational objectives for insights and customer service
- Implement social tactics, optimize real-time results, report outcomes, and present implications with recommendations
- Execute and manage the implementation of social media campaigns, editorial calendars, and day-to-day activities
- Oversee daily social listening monitoring for brand issues and opportunities. Initiate conversations on behalf of the brand, collaborating with internal teams to craft responses when necessary
- Collaborate with brand teams on the brand voice and editorial content and be the voice of the brand in any social media space across all channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Vine,YouTube).
- Measure and report results while ensuring that content development and social strategy decisions are made with data as the primary driver.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum three (3) years social media community engagement experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Managed communities of high population and engagement at a Fortune 500 company
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Familiarity with content management and social publishing systems (Adobe Social, Vitrue, Shoutlet, etc.)
- Familiarity with social listening tools (Sysomos, Radian6, Spreadfast, Evolve24, etc)
- Familiarity with image editing tools
- Familiarity with analytics system (Webtrends, Google Analytics, Coremetrics, etc.)
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel
