3M is seeking a Test Engineer for the Communication Markets Division Austin Plant located in Austin, Texas. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position Test Engineer, located at the 3M Austin Plant, will provide test engineering support for Communication Markets Division. Primary focus will be on providing test systems support and product enhancements and driving process improvements for printed circuit board products.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work in close coordination with laboratories in the launch of new products and supporting increased productivity.
- Drive significant quality improvement, cost reduction, and product/process optimization through the use of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Provide tactical support for our day to day manufacturing operations, demonstrate strong leadership skills, lead projects from conception through implementation and participate in strategic input sessions to facilitate continuous improvements and technological advancements.
- Work with suppliers on continuous improvement programs, documentation of operating procedures, and coaching production on quality control strategies.
- Responsibilities will extend across multiple divisions within 3M.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited University
- Minimum 3 years of test development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited University
- Experience in (logic and bus analyzers; digital logic circuits; PC based testers; oscilloscopes; signal generators; analog electronics principles
- Minimum of 3 years experience in embedded hardware/software design, development and/or testing
- Experience with C/C++ and/or Labview
- Experience with VB
- Experience with hardware and software interface design
- Experience designing test hardware, writing test software code, and debugging test systems (in-circuit testing and functional testing).
- Experience with in-circuit testing and hardware components
- Experience with analog components such as operational amplifiers, diodes, and transistors
- Experience with digital integrated circuits such as inverters, counters, multiplexers, decoders, buffers, and drivers
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology for sustained continuous improvement
- Previous experience with new product introduction
- Proven interpersonal and communications skills across all levels
- Previous printed circuit board assembly operations experience
- Familiarity with RoHS/WEEE compliance regulatory requirements
