3M is seeking a Electrical Systems Control Technician for the Industrial Business Group located in Knoxville, IA. Be part of what’s next!
The position of Electrical Systems Control Technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
- Layout, Facilitate, Plan and Document the following;
- Installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, modification, troubleshooting, diagnosing, programming, optimization and design of existing and new manufacturing equipment and all the associated control of that equipment.
- Apply and implement codes and regulations of Local, State, Federal Agencies and 3M
that apply to equipment safety and operability.
- Provide Production, Division Engineering, PI&C Engineering and Plant Engineering advanced systems expertise with the ability to program, install and optimize new equipment and controls.
- Work at times require in the coordination, layout, documentation, facilitation and training of other crafts, trainee's and Plant Engineering Technician's.
This position will require:
- Overtime
- Weekends
- Holidays as needed
This position may require:
- Either a second or third shift depending on shift availability
- Short notice call in
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and minimum 5 years industrial electrical or electronics experience OR an Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years industrial electrical or electronics experience AND an Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics discipline
- 3 years of Systems Control experience
- Experience diagnosing and repairing the following types of equipment in a manufacturing environment: Electrical power supply, Machine control device, Pneumatic and Hydraulic

Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, Pneumatic/hydraulic systems, Calibration/metrology, and National Electric Code

Direct experience within a manufacturing setting with the following; Laser capabilities, Web handling, Tension control, and Precision motion and robotics

Advanced computer knowledge
- Self-motivated, team oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Understand and follow both oral and written instructions
