3M Tonawanda, NY a world-class sponge manufacturing facility, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to provide Electrical Control Systems maintenance support to a broad range of manufacturing operations.
The Electrical Control Systems Technician position will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties;
- Create, read, modify or update electrical diagrams: elementary diagrams, PLC logic, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams, P&ID drawings, etc.
- Must possess normal compliment of electrical and mechanical maintenance hand tools including test equipment/meters.
- Use all types of electrical tools, test equipment and instruments used in industrial plant applications (oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, meggers, chart recorders, etc.).
This position may require:
- Varying shifts
- Short notice call-in
- Extended hours
- Weekends
- Holidays
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
- This position requires working varying shifts and extended hours (along with weekends and holidays if needed) and may require short notice call in.
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 3 years of industrial, electrical or electronics experience OR an Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years or more of industrial electrical or electronics experience AND an Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics discipline
- Experience working with the following:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Pneumatic / hydraulic systems
- Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems
- Calibrations / metrology
- National Electric Code
- Experience creating, reading, modifying and updating electrical diagrams such as PLC logic, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams, P&ID drawings
- Experience working with electrical tools, test equipment and instruments used in industrial plant applications such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, meggers, chart recorders.
- Familiarity with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens family of control systems.
