3M is seeking a Commercialization Program Manager for the Orthodontic Products Division (3M Unitek) located in Maplewood, Minnesota. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Commercialization Program Manager will lead a cross-functional Invest In Innovation (I3) team chartered with the development of new solutions for programmed aesthetic orthodontic treatment. Program scope includes treatment work flows based on digital scanning, modeling and manufacturing. Potential solutions include orthodontic appliances beyond typical brackets and wires. The program will establish a platform of capabilities that will allow the business to grow in this new orthodontics segment. The Program Manager role will be responsible for (1) setting program direction in cooperation with key division stake holders (technical, marketing, manufacturing and regulatory), (2) leading the team in gathering and analyzing customer insights and technology developments and (3) successfully commercializing products based on the platform of capabilities developed by the team.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and energize newly-formed project team
- Drive innovation and collaboration across functions
- Provide individual contributions to development and commercialization activities as appropriate
- Act as the primary contact for the program
- Establish communication rhythm with key stake holders
- Effectively manage issues, roadblocks and risks and escalate appropriately
- Interact with external consultants and companies in order to accelerate commercialization time lines
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Minimum 3 years of commercialization and/or project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited University in Science or Engineering
- MBA and Masters preferred
- Minimum of three years of commercialization preferred
- Cross-functional team leaderships
- Six Sigma experience
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong project management skills with commercialization experience
- Understanding of 3M's products, technology platforms and Corporate Research capabilities
- Creative problem solving - ability to work with diverse team members to address and resolve key issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to navigate the ambiguity of project start up and drive the program time line
Location: Maplewood, Minnesota
Travel: May include up to 50% domestic travel. Volume of travel will be out to Monrovia, California the Unitek sub. Other travel will be US wide based on customer needs.
